Are you aged 11–16 and passionate about music? This is your chance to shine! We’re inviting young musicians to a 3-night residential trip from Monday 28th to Thursday 31st July 2025 at the beautiful Kench Hill Centre, Tenterden, Kent.

Young Carers Awareness Training
This online information session will support schools as they develop their understanding about Young Carers and their lives.
It will also help school staff be mindful in identifying, acknowledging and supporting Young Carers and their families in order that Young Carers can access the same opportunities as their peers.

ASD and Girls
This course provides an overview of autism in relation to girls. It looks at the diagnostic methods and explores why ASD has often been thought of as a more 'male' condition.
We look at recent developments in our understanding of how autism presents in girls, addressing special interests, behaviour, social skills, masking/camouflaging and mental health.
Examining how common autism is in girls, why it often goes undiagnosed until later in life, and why other diagnoses may be given instead. We will also explore those areas where autism can pose challenges for girls and the adults around them, and discuss strategies and techniques to support.

GSSP Y5/6 Beach Volleyball Experience (Inspire)
Time: 1pm – 2.30pm (arrive from 12.30pm)
Venue: Samuel Montagu Youth Centre, 122 Broad Walk, London, SE3 8ND
Participants: Min: 6, Max 10 children from Year 5 / 6
Tier: INSPIRE - A targeted offer aimed at the least active or engaged young people. Strong emphasis on participation and trying new activities/skills or low-level competition.
Equipment: Children to bring own water, sunscreen, hats and appropriate clothing. Schools are able to bring and eat their packed lunch on the site (on grass area) before participating.
School Staff: Minimum of 2 staff (1 first-aider - schools are responsible for their own first-aid).
Info: A fun, engaging volleyball experience. Activities will enable children who are less confident in PE / school sport to have a positive activity experience, helping to boost their physical and social skills.
MAXIMUM OF 10 GSSP SCHOOLS - FIRST 10 GSSP SCHOOLS TO APPLY WILL BE ENTERED

Autism and Mental Health
A day to:
Explore the particular mental health needs most commonly linked to children with an ASD
Explore current research in this area, including more vulnerable groups of children
Provide participants with resources and strategies to use with this group of students
Inform staff how to signpost students/families to external support

GSSP Y5/6 Mixed Dynamos Kwik Cricket (Copy)
Times: 10am - 2.30pm (9.30am arrival)
Venue: Charlton Park (meet near cafe)
Entry Details: 1 COMPETE team per school (Compete – Aimed at active and engaged young people)
Participants: Y5/6 mixed (min. 2 girls on pitch)
Squad: Min. 8; Max. 10
Info: Teams will need to follow the Dynamos cricket rules and familiarise themselves with these rules prior to attending the competition. Some school staff attending the event may be asked to umpire / score matches. Competition rules and tiers can be found on the ‘Competitions Tiers and Rules’ area of the website.
Please arrive no earlier than 9.20am and no later than 9.50am. The competition will begin at 10am sharp! The competition will be completed by 2.30pm at the latest.
Please make sure that all participating children have adequate footwear for the competition which will take place on the grass in Charlton Park. We recommend astro-turf trainers or any trainers with good grip. We would also recommend that schools bring water for use throughout the competition.
It is absolutely essential that all primary schools have a minimum of 2 staff (1 must be a first-aider) for the duration of the visit.

Primary RE Subject Leaders (KS1/2)
We would like to invite primary RE Subject Leaders to attend a series of 3 network meetings that will take place over the course of the academic year. The meetings will be a fantastic opportunity to meet colleagues from different schools, share good practice and discuss current research and initiatives.
The sessions will be run by Rahima Choudhury, Curriculum Leader of Guidance at Tallis & Associate RE Lecturer at Goldsmiths, as part of the work with RBG EYFS/Primary Strategy Group. Rahima has been running a successful primary and secondary RE hub in Greenwich for several years. Rahima is passionate about her subject and wants to share this passion across Greenwich schools.

GSSP Y4/5/6 Cricket Experience
Time: 10am – 2pm (9.30am arrival)
Venue: University of Greenwich, Southwood Site, Avery Hill Road, Eltham, SE9 2UG
Participants: Min: 10, Max 30 children from Year 4 / 5 / 6 *Please email if you would like to enquire about bringing more than one class / more than 30 to this experience
Tier: INSPIRE - A targeted offer aimed at the least active or engaged young people. Strong emphasis on participation and trying new activities/skills or low-level competition.
Equipment: Children to bring own water and appropriate outdoor clothing / footwear.
School Staff: Minimum of 2 staff (1 first-aider - schools are responsible for their own first-aid).
Info: A fun circuit of cricket skills / drills which will include some friendly matches. Activities will enable children who are less confident in PE / school sport to have a positive activity experience, helping to boost their physical and social skills.
Please make sure that all participating children have adequate footwear for the experience which will take place on all-weather 4g pitches. We recommend astro-turf trainers or trainers with a good grip. We would also recommend that schools bring water for use throughout the festival.

EAR Curriculum Hub
This hub is open to all schools in The Royal Borough of Greenwich, and we welcome EYFS, primary and secondary colleagues.
We provide a safe, supportive space for schools to discuss how to aim for a racially equitable curriculum. This meeting is particularly useful for colleagues with responsibility for the curriculum, or for those who would like the opportunity to network with other colleagues about developing a racially equitable curriculum.
We hope by working collaboratively in this way, we will most effectively support the students of Greenwich and ensure that we are delivering the best possible curriculum and enrichment opportunities for them.

This meeting will support Post 16 and CEIAG leaders to continue to develop and embed specific aspects of their strategic role. It will provide:

AM – Inclusive PE Training - Choice of practical involvement or observing (10am – 12.15pm)
Staff participating – Practical experience which will take place as individuals and within teams in an indoor sports hall. This will involve skills, drills and activities that are designed to be suitable for all, so please dress in appropriate clothing and footwear to perform in an indoor sports hall.
Staff observing – There will be opportunities provided to observe activities / games and develop an understanding of how to deliver inclusive PE sessions. There will be no physical participation required if you are observing, just an opportunity to watch and take notes.

We are excited to announce that Nick Turvey, Senior HMI for maintained schools and academies will be presenting at our summer term chairs briefing and governor network.
Nick is a qualified teacher and has taught in a range of schools. Prior to joining Ofsted, Nick held various senior leadership roles including executive headteacher in a Multi-Academy Trust. Nick has been an accredited local and national leader of education and Ofsted inspector. He has completed a master’s degree and the National Professional Qualification for Headship. Nick’s main specialisms are in English and humanities as well as in leadership, governance and school improvement.
During the session Nick will provide Governors with an overview of the new Ofsted framework which will be in place from September 2025.
There will also be an opportunity for governors to network with colleagues and share best practice across Royal Greenwich schools.

Increasing focus on support for disadvantaged and vulnerable children and learners, including those with SEND
More emphasis on providers’ circumstances and local context
New toolkits to tailor inspections to the phase and type of provider

English Subject Leader Network (Secondary)
This meeting will support English Subject Leaders to develop and strengthen their strategic role as middle leaders in their school. It will provide up-to-date information on current research, policy and practice.
It will support Subject Leaders to explore ways of continuing to improve the quality of teaching and learning in English and provide opportunities to share effective practice.

First Aid Paediatric Course (2 days)
This is a 2-day course. Participants need to attend both days.
Day 1 - Thursday 26th June
Day 2 - Friday 27th June
This course will provide participants with training as Paediatric First Aiders within the workplace, incorporating particular skills for the treatment of injured and ill children and babies.
Day 1 will cover working with children aged 8 and above
Day 2 will cover working with babies from birth to 1 and children 1-7 years.
All participants will receive a delegate pack. It should be noted that there is no examination on the second day, participants will be continually assessed during the course. Attendance is required on both dates.
Successful candidates will be awarded an Emergency First Aid (Children and Babies) certificate, valid for three years.

Designated Safeguarding Lead Person Refresher Course
Keeping Children Safe in Education and Government guidance requires Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) to complete refresher training every two years.
This course will revisit the roles and responsibilities of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), new safeguarding guidance, initiatives, reflections and challenges of the role. It will provide participants with the opportunity to share safeguarding experiences with their DSL colleagues.
The course will also provide updates on safeguarding legislation and guidance - the current Keeping Children Safe in Education, and Working Together to Safeguard Children, that affect Safeguarding and Child Protection.

Fire Safety Awareness & Warden training
This course would benefit any individuals in the workplace, building environments, public buildings, voluntary clubs, etc.
Those who have a designated role as part of your fire safety policy (such as nominated Fire Wardens/Marshals, department heads, managers, health & safety representatives and/or facilities management).
A practical demonstration will take place, along with training, on how to use a fire extinguisher and will include fire warden duties.

This course supports staff in schools in supporting pupils with an ASD and sensory sensitivities, setting up interventions and supporting specialist Occupational Therapist programmes.

Deputy Head Inclusion Meeting (Secondary)
Networking sessions for secondary Deputy Headteachers responsible for inclusion. These sessions will offer support, advice, and opportunities to share information.


KS3 English Network
These meetings will support English KS3 Leaders with aspects of their role and provide up to date information on current research and policies.
They will explore ways of continuing to improve the quality of teaching, learning and assessment in English at Key Stage 3, provide opportunities to share effective practice and support English KS3 leaders in their strategic role.

Safer Recruitment
This workshop is the Safer Recruitment Consortium accredited, updated version of the Safer Recruitment training for Headteachers, school Governors and other staff who are likely to sit on interview panels or appoint staff.
It is still a requirement for every school appointments panel to include at least one member who has completed the Safer Recruitment training.
Course content provides clear explanations of government guidance regarding the safer recruitment process. It also includes an update of the most recent legislation changes (Keeping Children Safe in Education) and the pre-employment checking process that impacts on Safeguarding and Child Protection.
It is recommended that you refresh your training every 5 years.

EAL Network Meeting (Primary and Secondary)
This GLP network is for anyone with responsibility for supporting students with English as an additional language (EAL). We welcome colleagues from all phases (nursery, primary, secondary) in order to share best practice, challenges and practical tips for supporting our EAL students in Royal Greenwich schools.

Heads Partnership: Training event. Culture for Now: Curious Not Triggered
The training event for the Autumn and Summer Heads Partnership will be led by Katherine Powell.
Katherine is the Director and Founder of KP&A. As a coach, Katherine works with senior and aspiring leaders. She believes that everyone should lead ‘just as they are’ and uses her coaching skills to support leaders in achieving this.
Session 1: held in November 2024
We explored ‘big culture’ and how leaders set and influence this by exploring: what we mean by ‘culture’; what we understand about ‘trust’ and how we become culture curators.
Session 2: 12th June 2025
Building on the themes in the first workshop we will think about our personal leadership and the role it plays in creating culture. Leaders can attend this session without attending the first session.
